Spring into the new semester at UGA Gwinnett

Transitioning from a long break to the demands of graduate study can be challenging, but the UGA Gwinnett team is here to help you get this semester started with a few essential tips for the new year:

  • Set Achievable Goals: Break your larger projects into small, manageable tasks to experience “small successes” as you check off your to-do list.
  • Prioritize Social Connection: Don’t forget to step away from the books to spend time with loved ones. Being social produces oxytocin, which helps reduce anxiety and promotes relaxation.
  • Master Your Time: Boost your productivity using the Pomodoro Technique. Set a timer for 25 minutes of focused work, followed by a 5-minute break. After four sessions, treat yourself to a longer 15–30 minute break.
