The University of Georgia class attendance/absence policy is followed at the Gwinnett Campus. The Gwinnett departmental coordinator, assistant or academic affairs office should be notified of an unexpected absence, so notices can be posted for students. Additionally, please note that the Office of Student Affairs does not play a role in excusing student absences, such as verifying student documentation for routine absences or religious observances. The decision to excuse an absence, allow make-up work, or reschedule/make up an exam is solely the prerogative of the instructor.
The University of Georgia seeks to promote and ensure academic honesty and personal integrity among students and other members of the university community. Every student must agree to abide by UGA’s academic honesty policy and procedures known as A Culture of Honesty (PDF), when applying for admission to the University of Georgia. A Culture of Honesty and the University of Georgia Student Honor Code work together to define a climate of academic honesty and integrity at the university. All members of the university community have a responsibility to uphold and maintain an honest academic environment and to report when dishonesty occurs. Where suspected violations of the academic honesty policy occur, appropriate procedures are designed to protect the integrity of the academic process while ensuring due process. The university’s academic honesty system is an academic process founded on educational opportunities. The Office of the Vice President for Instruction is responsible for the university’s academic honesty policy and procedures and supporting the University of Georgia Student Academic Honesty Council to ensure that information related to the academic honesty policy is available to all members of the university community. Information on campus closing due to holidays or emergencies is reported on the UGA Gwinnett website, the UGA Gwinnett Facebook page, and/or on metro-Atlanta radio and television stations. Individual class cancellations are not reported to UGA Gwinnett staff and are not announced on the website.
All requests for schedule changes should be made through your departmental contact person and must be entered into the Banner system before a classroom can be reserved for the class. All requests for classroom changes, rescheduling missed or canceled classes, and special event space should be directed to Jill Rhoden, Assistant Director for the Gwinnett Campus: [email protected] or (678) 985-6807.

This list is not a discussion list and is only used to disseminate important information regarding the Gwinnett Campus and programs. To join the list, email Ben Hall at [email protected].
Flexible workspace is available to faculty based upon their needs and time spent at Gwinnett. A faculty prep area with computer workstations and tables to use personal laptops in is located on the second floor administrative area.
