UGA Gwinnett recently welcomed community leaders, advocates, and elected officials for the 5th annual Georgia Asian Times (GAT) AAPI Summit. Co-hosted by UGA’s Institute for Nonprofit Organizations and the Center for Social Justice, Human and Civil Rights, the full-day event served as a platform for critical dialogue regarding the Asian American and Pacific Islander community in Georgia.
The summit featured a moving keynote by former CNN journalist Sachi Koto and a series of expert panels addressing entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and mental health. A significant highlight of the day was the presentation of a Georgia House of Representatives Proclamation by State Rep. Michelle Au to GAT Publisher Li Wong, recognizing the publication’s decades of service. By hosting this summit, UGA Gwinnett continues its mission to support regional engagement and provide a space for conversations that lead to lasting community impact.
