Award honors Bierema in name, achievements

The Academy of Human Resource Development has recognized College of Education Associate Dean Laura Bierema's achievements with the creation of a new award. The Laura Bierema Excellence in Critical HRD award recognizes Bierema as a "thought leader" in the development of critical human resources development. Bierema is the associate dean for academic programs and a professor in the department of lifelong education, administration and policy. Read more here.  … more


Entries in The Georgia Review’s Loraine Williams Poetry Prize due May 15

The Georgia Review, the literary quarterly published at the University of Georgia, is accepting submissions for the third annual Loraine Williams Poetry Prize-$1,000 and publication in The Georgia Review for a single poem, originally written in English and never before published either in print or online. Submissions will be accepted until May 15 with the winning poem to be published in the Spring 2016 issue. Read more here.more


Norman named associate VP for instruction

Naomi Norman, a Josiah Meigs Distinguished Teaching Professor and veteran administrator in the department of classics at the University of Georgia, has been named associate vice president for instruction. Norman has served as department head in classics for the last several years and has been a faculty member in the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences since 1980, teaching courses in archaeology and Greek.  Read more here.more


Apply for the Giles Encouragement Award
