The Gwinnett Campus is closed on all UGA celebrated holidays and may announce closings during inclement weather that causes unsafe travel to the Gwinnett location. The campus may modify staffing hours during finals week and semester breaks depending upon scheduled events.
Security are on site Monday – Saturday. IT and facility staff are either physically on site or on call.
All requests for classroom / schedule changes should be made through your departmental contact person. If you do not know who your contact person is, please call the academic affairs office at 678-985-6802 for this information.
Instructors often have students working together on projects and need breakout space for students to work. Students may break out in the public areas, but should not move to other classrooms without reserving space. If a meeting room is open and not scheduled, students may use these spaces as well.
UGA University Council policy requires faculty members to provide a syllabus for each course that they teach. Please review your syllabi to see that they meet the UGA policy guidelines [pdf].
The University of Georgia class attendance/absence policy is followed at the Gwinnett Campus. The Gwinnett departmental coordinator, assistant or academic affairs office should be notified of an unexpected absence, so notices can be posted for students.
Additionally, please note that the Office of Student Affairs does not play a role in excusing student absences, such as verifying student documentation for routine absences or religious observances. The decision to excuse an absence, allow make-up work, or reschedule or make up an exam is solely the prerogative of the instructor.
Faculty may part in either parking lot of the Intellicenter Building. There is no additional charge for parking and a parking decal is not needed.
New faculty who expect to receive mail at Gwinnett should inform their department coordinator. Senders of mail should be instructed to add the department name to the address line, so mail can be sorted accordingl
Information on campus closing or class cancellations is posted on the UGA Gwinnett Campus home page and reported on metro-Atlanta radio and television stations. Schedule changes or cancellations on the UGA main campus do not necessarily mean that UGA Gwinnett Campus classes are cancelled or affected. If you do not have access to radio or internet, you may call 678-985-6802 and listen for a recorded message about schedule alteration.
Academic Affairs has established a listserv, GWINNETT-NEWS, for dissemination of important information to faculty, staff and administrators who are associated with Gwinnett programs. This list is not a discussion list and serves a function similar to the Athens campus ARCHNEWSFACSTAFF. This list will be used to disseminate important information regarding the Gwinnett Campus and programs.

UGA Gwinnett Campus Faculty Resources
Gwinnett classes are all equipped with the most up-to-date audio-visual technology including smart-podiums, projectors, screens, VHS and CD/DVD players. Several rooms have video-conferencing capabilities and digital recording capabilities.
All new faculty should contact the Gwinnett IT staff to arrange for training in using the classroom AV and IT equipment. Send requests for training to the Gwinnett Helpdesk.
The Gwinnett Campus has two computer instruction classrooms that may be reserved for courses that require computer instruction. The UGA Educational Technology Center (ETC) provides technology support for these two classrooms. First-time faculty users must contact the ETC staff at ttc@uga.edu to obtain a userid in the computer classroom system and basic training information on using the computer classroom.
Flexible workspace is available to faculty based upon their needs and time spent at Gwinnett. A drop-in faculty prep area with computer workstations and tables to use personal laptops is located in the Gwinnett Campus West on the main floor, Room 125. Combination lockers are also available to faculty to use on a drop-in basis to store belongings while in class. Because others may use the lockers on alternate days, faculty members should remove personal items before leaving the campus. Faculty members who need assigned workspace on a semester basis should contact the academic affairs office at 678-985-6802. Shared workstation space is available in the second floor administrative area.
